If he is leaving to spend more time with his family -as the article states- how comes he is free to come back to a more demanding and time consuming job as the CEO of a troubled company?

My take is he is leaving because he sess trouble that's coming. Then he wants to come back as the saviour and is leaving the door open for his return.

Saying that he wants to spend time with hs family is just to avoid telling the truth.
