Small cars are dangerous? Is that the new message out of the "drill more oil" Cartel we have controlling the White House? LOL. Think about how silly that statement is. Small cars also go slower so they're less likely to be in wrecks to begin with. They also waste far less energy. It's really stupid that most Americans drive big cars and leave 3/4 of the car's seats empty whenever they drive. We waste SO much that conservation for the US would almost solve our energy needs all by its lonesome. The American mentality needs changing here. One thing Bush's price gouging did was wake up Americans to conservation again. Even Dick(head) Cheney has had to swallow his words and recommend more conservation. It's a no-brainer. Not only smaller cars, but cleaner fuels for more efficient engines, less indoor refrigeration, more insulation and lots and lots of solar and wind power to supplement our needs. Funny Cheney never mentions those, only polluting coal, petroleum and nuclear, as if those are the only energy sources out there. And what about a government push to solve the hydrogen fuel dilemma? But NO, the oil industry has been lobbying hard against that sort of thing as it would make them evolve and give up their dinosaur mentality. They even protest cleaner burning gasoline and exaggerate how much extra it costs to make (5 cents per gallon and well worth it). And as we know the oil industry now runs more than 1/3 of our government thanks to voters who believed some of Bush's phony promises and dishonest attacks. Remember when Bush ridiculed tax credits for solar energy? Mmm-hmm. Real progressive guy there.
