I am definitely having a bad mental health day.

You're on the wrong thread, then ;) (try the mudges...)

Once again, thanks to both of you for the informative take on BEA's business.

Understand that this isn't directed at you, but we're all feeling the need to be very conservative about the companies in which we invest. This often implies candid and blunt criticism and questioning. We all strive to do this politely, and mostly, we succeed.

Consider, e.g. BVSN (because rambus hits too close to home...). About a year ago, several very enthusiastic, respected posters on some online boards were very bullish on BVSN. I never really followed or much understood this company, but people seemed to think of BVSN about what people think of BEAS. Fortunately, I never invested (my investments fared just as poorly, though). The point is, these games are very, very hard to follow, and it pays to be skeptical.

Don:

No need for paranoia! I am out to get you.

No, seriously, I appreciate your expressing your concern in so forthright a manner. The truth is that I am not very facile in my use of language and struggle to express myself poorly. If I ever express myself well, you should send me a reward. (In such a case you probably read me wrong, but send the reward anyway.)

I intended my comments truly as philosophical issues. If you read some of my posts, you'll see I have brought up some of those points repeatedly - including before your Hunt report, before the talk about BEA. As best as I can tell from your posts, you are searching, not concluding, and that you intended and intend to continue searching, with the very purpose of addressing some of these issues as they apply to BEA. I also think that your posting your thoughts (right or wrong, and I won't judge) is of benefit to all who engage in the discussion or really think about it. So please don't retire, and please accept that I'm sincere in hoping that you and others will at least consider the philosophical points I tried to raise, even if they are not discussed.
