Frank, the Kyoto protocol is intended to limit greenhouse gases. Of all the major fossil fuels, coal, not oil or natural gas, is by far the worst contributor of greenhouse gases for a given amount of energy. I therefore do not understand why people in Alberta would be worried about the impact of the Kyoto accord. The worst polluting area in Canada is Hamilton, Ontario. The pollution coming from the burning of oil products is rapidly being reduced, particularly through modernization of the automobile and truck fleet. Oil and gas fired generating units are replacing coal, which is probably a favorable condition for oil and gas interests in Alberta.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.
