stockmarket14: I use several Sentiment indicators, and they have proven useful over the past 26 years (some of them were not around then, LOL!).

I have not followed the success or lack of success from following indiv. investors sentiment in past years. Consumer confidence is an important sentiment indicator but I have not found it very good for timing the market.

This is not to say that your premise is wrong. I think we can add the individual investors sentiment to our list of indicators to follow, and we shall see how useful it is as a contrarian indicator, and maybe it is better for longer term "timing," as you hyothesize. Have you followed it very long? If so, how has it worked for market timing?

I am always open to new or different indicators.

Appreciate your dialogue and insights, as per usual.

Best wishes,

Dr.Bob
