Given the unexamined allegations of fraud throughout the country, and the effect of early announcement of victory on the Florida panhandle vote, I am not impressed with the razor- thin popular vote victory of Gore, nor am I sure that had all possible districts been contested that he would have sustained that trivial lead. No, Bush does not have a Reagan- like mandate, but he doing fine. I have no idea who will win in 2004. There are too many contingencies......
