It looks like we have a solid floor in the $8.00 area. If I was short I would be covering in a hurry. Not much downside left from here. The news and results couldn't get much worse and the stock held in this area. Any surprising good news will make the stock pop up.

I like the bold moves the company is taking to position itself for rapid growth when the demand picks up....compare this mgmt to sunw who despite the business slowdown will not make the necessary cutbacks. The billions of dollars were never there....just accounting. JDSU cleaned up the overstated "goodwill"...good timing to do it. Other companies should follow. GLW is anther co that let it all hang out and the stock is actually climbing.

Hi Fallope,

There is little doubt that tomorrows mode of fast communication will feature photond through glass. There is little doubt that JDSU will be in a leadership role. The fact that the company used an inflated currency(their stock) to buy up more dynamic companies(for their inflated stock) is more an accounting issue.

What I feel is important is - Will the future prove their acquisition judgement to be correct.I am somewhat confused by Jdsu and Nortel and Csco's buying frenzy which has resulted in a write down vs Intels acquisitions which haven't been as disastrous.
