Bloody Ravi Batra still alive and kicking eh? indolink.com He was wrong about the "Great Depression of 1990" and while there was a small recession you won't find it on the historic graph of the Dow. finance.yahoo.com^DJI&d=c&t=my&l=on&z=b&q=l Back in the 1980s, I read his book and decided he was full of it. Panic is great fun but it's reality we need to deal with.

The big thing which nobody seems to understand or perhaps they don't like to admit, is that the USA is the Rome of the Roman Empire of the 21st century. It's the London of the British Empire. I choose to invest via USA laws and companies because the USA has got the best economic and legal system on offer. Many people I know around the world do the same. The New World Order is Pax Americana. But there are changes looming over the horizon: ksgnotes1.harvard.edu

China has got a long way to go to displace the USA and I think the USA will be the last empire. Then, we will have some sort of United Nations within which the USA is but a part. American war criminals will be dragged before the Hague judges along with criminals from smaller countries. We will have a cyberspace of much more importance than any country.

But until then, the USA is the financial epicentre of the world. It's a decade since the Great 1990 Depression that wasn't. Now, here's Ravi again, hoping for the USA to get its comeuppance. Sad to say for Ravi, but as before, there will be but a dip and the cash will flood in as the technology flows out. What am I supposed to invest in? Growing pumpkins or sheep? There is an amazing technosphere under development and that's where the action is, not down on the farm or back in the industrial zones of the third world. Most of the technosphere is Made in the USA [because they hire the brains from around the world to do it].

Ravi's full of it. Every dog has his day, [not in China], but not Ravi!
