We did part of the Riverwalk -- as much as we could stand. And, sorry, but I'm not impressed. It struck me as a) very dirty water, b) totally man made, manufactured, plastic environment, nothing natural about it at all, even the plants, though real, seemed plastic in having been put there by designers, not nature, and c) a pure tourist trap. I doubt there was a single store there that the residents shopped in. We didn't find a single bookstore worth spending more than five minutes in. The height of art was the Thomas Kincaid store -- I mean, I like Kincaid, but really.... He is to art what jello is to food -- convenient, familiar, comfort food, but hardly nourishing. We did the Alamo. Some of the historical stuff was interesting, but one who has seen the great castles and forts and houses and cathedrals of Europe wonders, having seen it, "is this dinky little thing really worth all the fuss?" Oh. And your dirt down there is weird. Red, not rich brown. Not real earth at all. Now that I've thoroughly trashed your home... <bg>
