What others think of conservatives........CONSERVATIVE

Compared to Conservatives, the worst liberals have ever done the least bit dirty is run up a few deficits or try out a few new ideas that didn't work.

As opposed to the hundreds of new ideas they tried out that DID work.

But Conservatives have won every Dirtiness Contest over the last two thousand years. And counting.

Here are just a few of their dirty tricks and dirty secrets through the ages.

Including a bunch they're still hard at work on.

Let no one ever forget that "Conservatives" have been responsible for everything from:

The decline of Greek skepticism and science and the onset of the Dark Ages...

to the Sack of Constantinople, the Albigensian Crusade, the Spanish Inquisition...

the Counter-Reformation, the campaign against Copernicus and Galileo...

the English Civil War, the championship of slavery throughout the entire world...

the American Civil War (including some blood ancestors of the Southerners STILL calling the shots in Washington)...

the massacre of Native Americans over the last two centuries...

fervent and frequently violent opposition to Labor Unions...

backward educational standards in half the nation, poor or poisoned food supplies for most of the population...

Tzarist Russia, Communist Russia (yes, the communists were the most Conservative of the Conservative, however their theory may have read)...

Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany, McCarthyist & near-fascist America, plus of course Nixon's even closer brush with fascism...

the uncontrolled and ongoing rape of the environment...

partial or total opposition to sex in any and all of its forms...

poor health care for half the nation, bigotry and prejudice against Blacks, Latinos, and all ethnic groups arriving in the US...

victimization of women and the ongoing murderous campaign against abortion...

the unceasing war against the arts and freedom of expression, even when they don't question conventional opinions...

and the still unchecked plague afflicting millions of tobacco victims.

But we forgot—it goes back even further than that—all the way back to when we still dwelled in caves.

Guess what? They wanted to stay there.

Every step along the road of progress—all the way, the conservatives dug in their heels and tried to destroy anyone trying to go the slightest bit further.

That's what being a conservative is all about—

conserving what THEY consider normal,
and doing away with everything else.

A liberal will let a few people cheat the system to make sure that nobody goes hungry.

There will always be hungry people no matter what the system.

Example - Californians trusted their government could get them cheap power:

Sunday, July 29, 2001

From The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES -- Five state energy consultants were fired for conflicts of interest because they helped California buy power from a company in which they owned stock, officials said.

No system or method is perfect. All methods will have people fall thru the cracks. The most efficient systems are those that are run by folks who care. I'd suggest that private charities made up of people who are personally committed to help the poor are far more efficient of getting needed help to more of those in need. The con man and thief learn the rules of the Government system and fleece it by learning the checks and fooling them.

In a private system some initial con can occur but month after month and year over year fraud will not occur.

But your holier than thou assertion that those who have a different approach are evil shows your intolerance to the American way. If you can just call me evil because you say so. That's a stupid attitude if you ask me.

A liberal will let a few people cheat the system
to make sure that nobody goes hungry.

A conservative will let a few people go hungry to
make sure nobody cheats the system.

Your example is actually a reasonable representation.

The problem with the liberal approach is that you are actually teaching people to be cheaters, which goes back to the rotten apple syndrome.

Well said, Colton Gang. It sums up the demo philosophy well.

The problem with your side is that there is no integrity involved when cheating is allowed, although I whole heartedly agree that it is more prelevant on the liberal side.

The conservatives feel that with a little determination and effort most all able body and minded people can make it in America, and that nobody owes someone else a living. Liberals do not believe this for some reason and consequently ask for a lot more hand outs.

Again, well said. I am glad to see a liberal put this in print in that it is very hard to get one to admit these differences. The common theme in both your descriptions is that someone else is responsible for another's situation. A very liberal mind set.

CG, Some people are bound to go hungry regardless of what any government does. The conservative are for teaching the people how to care for themselves, the liberals are for hand outs to keep the people dependent on them. More people go hungry under liberal rule.
