But you people arguing that you should "conserve", or "save the rain forests" or the "whales" or whatever your latest cause is, look pretty foolish to me. To what end do you inconvenience yourself? 500 years from now, all those things you conserved will be long gone. No matter how much you conserve, what you do, they'll be gone. There will be no room for rain forests because we need the space for people. So, I refuse to feel badly about making myself comfortable. The damned liberals have already squeezed years of Social Security payments out of me for which I will receive nothing in return; I've paid untold thousands of income tax dollars which were handed over to people who don't want to work and don't need to because I'm paying them not to. While I buy my family's health insurance, the State takes my tax dollars and buys insurance for those who sleep till noon. While I put my kids through college out of my pocket, the State pays for the education of those whose parents sit on their butts. So please excuse me if I don't take this conservation issue too seriously. It downright pleases me that the same Californians who vote for the liberals to take my hard-earned money have had to endure a few short blackouts. What a bunch of weenies. We were without electricity 10 straight days in sub-freezing weather this year. The county I'm in had 40,000 people out for a week or more. And we got through it. You people can endure it for a couple hours at a time. I suggest you go home, turn the air down cool, turn the oven on high, and open the door. Then take a deep breath of fresh air. This is freedom, man, and you ought to appreciate it. Sheesh.
