I don't understand your question. If you had the impression that I think BEA is a gorilla, somehow communications went kafluey. (Is it that the correct spelling? :)

I was saying that there are many people who feel BEAS is a gorilla (wasn't saying you in particular), yet BEAS has many more questions than GMST which must be answered before we could consider BEAS a gorilla. Then again, the people who've crowned BEAS a gorilla may have already answered these questions.

Gemstar, basically, needs to experence 100% YoY growth from commerce, advertising, and licences for us to officaly call them a gorilla, correct?

Really? How? If I was convinced Gemstar was in a sustained tornado, I'd think it is a Gorilla. There aren't any competitors with any where near their marketshare. More important, they've got such strong command of their value chain, it would be difficult in my mind not to declare Gemstar a Gorilla once a sustained tornado is proven.

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying that with GMST its pretty simple to see if they are in a tornado. Gemstar reports the revenues they receive from the IPG and all you have to do is calculate the percent. With BEAS there seems to be confusion as to whether BEAS is in a tornado or not.

Yes, but the only thing that matters is what you think. Not to be too obvious or corny, but it's your money, not theirs.

I agree 100 percent, but how can i make my own decision when i'm basing it off other people's decisions. I have no idea if CDMA is truely better than GSM, i'm just trusting the reports from Qualcomm that their technology is the best & from other reports i've read.

I've never used IBM or Bea's software and probably wont any time soon. Some people like XaosSurfer feel BEAS is playing in a gorilla game and has an open proprietary architecture & they've listed their reasons for thinking so. Yet others feel the ePS space will become a commodity and is a royalty game. Either way, how am i suppost to know who is right? Maybe no one is right and time is needed to find the true answer? As you see, i was hoping the community could answer this question for me. Maybe I should take a weekend off and fly down to 2315 North First Street San Jose, CA & see first hand what Bea's product does and how it compares to WebSphere.

So I am going to be looking for a news of this sort pretty soon after the next earning announcement:

4:54PM Gemstar (GMST) 42.66: Issue upgraded to a Gorilla after the close by Gorilla & King Tech Investment Senior Analyst Mike Buckley; based on the increase in revenue growth in the past quarter, GMST is finally showing the characteristics of a Gorilla. While firm does not believe the tornado is complete, believes it is underway and the risk/reward ratio is attractive at current prices.

LOL
