You've come up with quite a mulligan political stew by commingling present-day USA with Russia in 1919 and Germany in the 1936. Totalitarianism is the political mechanism that drives the economic principle of communism, is it not? Totalitarianism also could drive other economic models, could it not?

You say the right wants small government. Please provide some examples of how a Republican presidency accomplished this from, say, the time of Ike to the present day. Thanks.

I think you have expressed a nice analysis. But I don't think your posts takes in the correct style to make your point. The information you provided should be spread over 20 to 25 posts. All no longer than one line and every other or 2 out of three should pontificate about the inability of others to be less that honest, intelligent or some other negative trait.

I'm guessing that one must emulate the style of some if one expects them to understand anything you are trying to say.

re:personally I leave Nazis and Communists off the political spectrum...

I agree. IMHO the only reason why one is considered far left and the other far right, is that the rest of humanity needs to figuratively and physically be separate them.

Well, the only administration in the last thirty or so years that has decreased the size of Federal Government was the Clinton Administration, but since he was a democrat I guess that doesn't count. I did enjoy your post however. I just wondered since we have more generals and admirals than ever do you think the Bush administration's increase in defense spending will result in less General and Admirals as in less military government? BTW totalitarianism can disguise itself as a democracy, dictatorship, conservative or liberal rule, or anything else. However, when it gets manifested, totalitarianism and it's crony dictatorship usually has little tolerance for a wide range of thought thus it's focus usually becomes extremely conservative and freedom limiting, sort of like the new administration is thinking
