The point of my post was never that sex is indecent or that having sex is indecent.

Then what was it?

I'd prefer that kids not have sex until they're adults and in a caring relationship. You'd prefer kids not have sex until they're married. I was trying to ascertain the basis for the difference. Why should, for example, a 23 year old couple who think they are in love and and who are beginning to talk about marriage wait until marriage?

It sounded to me like you were saying that sex before marriage showed a low standard of decency. I was reacting to phrases like "low standard," "an honorable and good choice," and "standards of decency." Those are your words. Indecent seemed a good word to convey the opposite of honorable and decent. I'm sorry if I misunderstood. Please tell me, then, what you did mean. What quality is it that distinguishes those who wait until marriage from those who don't?
