<ELD> Don't know for sure VT. But judging from the reaction to BGI's and YMC's sterling news, perhaps the problem with these companies is they have great deposits of, heaven forbid, gold? Seriously though, I'm noticing a pronounced tendency to mark down these top quintile plays from four or five bucks an ounce to two or three of late. That's why nobody's exploring anymore, no payoff no matter what. ELD has 7.8 million oz of that genre, plus a so so mine. Enterprise value after adding back debt (US 15 m.) and subtracting cash (US 8 m.)is now US 22 million. Once I saw them close out the hedge book, I got aggressive here. Seems strange to me, and this one even assigning nominal value to a producing mine looks incredibly inexpensive. I've been averaging down. Picked up more at 26 yesterday. Looks like 24 tomorrow, I'm going for more.

Why is ELD tankin ? Simple answer I bought some at 32.<ggg> Actualy ELD has treated me quite well . I was around the last time she kissed 2 bits and when she was trading around that lofty 2 figures. My biggest concern is getting hit with a rollback. I talked to the company a couple of times this spring/summer and brought up the rollback issue and at the time was told they had no plans to do so. I suspect ELD will drift off with gold over the remains of the summer and improve this fall. What Gold needs is for the rumour to get out that it is a great aphrodiziac when consumed before going to bed or slipped into your dinner. regards ralfph
