We're talking about last summer and the supposedly real oil-gas supplies not commodity speculation. Truth is now clear. There was no shortage last summer other than those in charge of supply turning off the taps. Now we have a glut even though Cheney swore to us refineries could not possibly handle more capacity. The glut started after Jeffords gave the Senate to the defenders. Now Bush wants OPEC to cut production and they have complied of course. Just as they complied in December and last summer. Just as Williams and El Paso cut the natural gas supply to California. Just as Duke, Enron, Reliant, etc., cut the electricity. Why the sudden shortages? Because they were shut off to gouge, kill Gore's prosperity issue, make us afraid we need environmental de-regulation and to conquer the feared Grey Davis. No other reasons. Don't kill the messenger.
