He got to 40 first, so he's had time to adjust!

While we are on the subject of children and vocabulary, I will say something like, "that is stupid."

My little boy, says, "we do not say stupid."

He has a little list of words he thinks we cannot use, and it makes me aware of every word I say. These are just common place words, that you would use in a sentence, not anywhere near profanity. He just has a sense of what he thinks is right and wrong.

It is not an actual list since he can't read and write yet, but he has a great memory and he keeps this list in his head!

You can tell a lot from children, and what they learn at home. My little boy had a friend over. They had hot dogs for lunch. I asked Grant if he wanted a Coke. He said, "the sugar will rot my teeth."

Then "little logo boy" was in the car with me and we passed an Albertson's and he said, "Albertson's, it's your store," like the commercial! It is not like he reads yet. I never go in that store and it's not nearby! He is so influenced by commercials. The Time Magazine Cover story talks about children today, and one of the things happening is that they are so influenced by advertising. I really screen the programs he watches, the amount of TV he watches, and I listen to Radio Disney when he is in the car. But he is aware of every new product that's advertised. He is tuned into billboards, movie posters and the advertisement on a bus. He does not miss a beat on telling me the Websites for children.

I think I will make sure he gets some fresh air! Westi
