agreed. so, let's just change the numbers to make them look good, yell new economy and economic supertanker, provide lots and lots of credit and foment a bubble. -ng- then we can blame the dopes that bought the absurdly priced shares while we collect retirement off of their real productivity. -ng-

It is, for example, a thorn in the side of the computer industry to know that there is almost no evidence that computer use improves the productivity of the computer user This is a myth. One economist published a study in which he couldn't find productivity gains from computers. The study has never been replicated and all anecdotal evidence points to the contrary (the savings in low prices from WalMart alone can justify all IT expenditures for the first 30 years).
