Carl, I do not believe in these niches. If Rambus cannot make it in the PC world they are dead.

I do not believe in the display niche because the speeds are not all that high anyway and they have always found ways to deal with the line buffers etc. I do also not believe in the HDTV niche, only Panasonic has a set with rdram, but the other manufacturers Philips, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Sharp etc do not use rdram and have perfectly godo sets. Same story for settop boxes.

I could imagine some of these applications to be interested in the "downward granularity" question, if you only need 16 MB for example, less chips, but if that is the case it will be a small portion of total MBs sold.
