It has to. It is Intel's last 32-bit x86 processor. By contrast, AMD will go from K7 to K8 to K9 ...

Not sure I agree there... I've seen rumors around the internet about a chip codenamed "Prescott" that appears to be a 32-bit x86 chip... although I hope they call it something other than the Pentium V in production (a bit redundant, no?)...

The question is when does Intel bring IA-64 to the desktop?
