I know John. I can't say I'd do it differently if I was Intel. At least Intel doesn't seem to be losing too much more share and they make up some the ASPs on the little guys.
Looking more and more like they will get to Northwood before AMD gets to 30% market share.

That strategy would leave enough crumbs (i.e. business to Intel's competitors) to keep Intel's competitors alive.

Sounds like Intel's not interested in the crumbs. Different strategy than Microsoft. Microsoft always goes for the kill, each and every crumb, Intel seems to leave just enough on the table for some competitors to keep alive. But maybe that keeps the FTC away.
