Do you find networked personal computers increase productivity? :) Can't resist. I tried. God knows I tried.

I assume that question has something to do with the debate on the Amazon thread. I opted to stay out of that;-)

The answer is a definite yes. From inventory control to collecting from those deliquent on layaways to communcation between employees and our customers. I could go on forever.

Honestly, I would not know where to start to say which is the most important. I take that back one that I eprsonally appreciate is the cash receipts journal which obtains its infor from the POS. Not longer than 12 years ago, we posted each sale ona a double entry cash receipts page. Then we (I in this case) totaled the numbers in each column and of course, they needed to balance and do so prior to business the next day. During the holidays as we grew, I was up until 5 AM completing this task and then at work at 8 AM. With today's volume of business the exercise manually would be impossible for even a team or workers. It takes no time at all now since when we turn the lights off for the evening it is done because it is automatically done every time something is sold. I can say with certainty the computer adds columns of numbers much faster than I and with perfect accuracy.
