there are no creeps in the hills of canada except in the prov of bc where they can be identified amongst the local lotus eating residents. they too are rare. most of canada is uninhabitable. The cities, because the costs are too high and the country because there are few ways to get midnite snacks, whereas there are a few ways to be one.

way back in the woods one meets no one. If you truly wilderness travel the solitude is overwhelming. go ten miles off the hiway in CDA and you won't meet a soul for years. I can attest to that without fear of rebuke as I can count on my hands the number of people I met back in the bush from PQ to NWT in 25 years. If I did they were either the odd indian (very rare) or an american/european camper. almost never a canadian from the city or town. canadians don't do bush unless they work in it. if you can't get there in a car or bush bike and there is nothing to poach or steal they don't go. quebecers are somewhat more bush oriented. bc'ers stay the hell out of the mountains. alberta is deserted 5 miles from a town. dirtiest country naturally (water, land) I have ever seen. 85% of bc has never been trod. ontario has not been backwoods travelled on the indian trails or real wilderness in, I would say, 60 years. land travel by canoe and pack is just too tough for most folk. a few score each year camp in the big parks like algonquin and banff. A high percent for that small number killed by bears each year. if you do camp the wilderness in the spring/summer take a 303. parks won't let you do that.

P.S. I know where all the gold is back there. If you want a map I will sell it for a ~few~ bucks. no kidding :) Just forget trying to develop it. I wish someone would have sold me a map of where the development money was.

<<Smart Lady. It's amazing (or scary or disgusting) some of the creeps one can run into back in the hills. One is not ill-advised to go armed, instead of vulnerable, when beating about in remote/semi-remote areas. >>

Then even if the two legged critters ain't the problem, there are the 4 legged. 2nd black bear attack just happened at the same boy scout camp here in Colorado in 3 weeks despite black bear attacks being rare.
