Did you flunk reading too?

The message there is that if you use a graduated income tax and then cut taxes, the highest earners will get the most benefit. It points out that the effect the liberals decry so loudly about every tax cut is ONE THEY THEMSELVES CAUSED! Not George Bush. Not me. The proponents of a graduated tax.

You want to avoid that effect? Then use an inversely graduated scale. Then when you cut the lowest earners will get the highest percentage benefit.

You're at the low end of the income scale yourself, aren't you? And green with envy. You must be or you would see this for what it is- -a mathematical effect- -rather than a moral issue.

The message there that escapes you completely is that with a graduated tax rate the rich are always going to get a larger check back because they are paying the largest amount. I know you don't seem to have even a basic grip on math but lets give it a whirl.

One taxpayer pays 0 tax because they don't earn enough money, and another pays 30k because he is a rich prick. 7% reduction means the guy paying 0 is going to get 0 for a cut (.07*0=0). Guy paying 30k is going to get a 2,100.00 reduction (.07*30000=2100). I suppose you find that unfair but that is just the way math works.

It is a very ugly and misleading post

It is neither and you are clueless.

How about: We actually could pay for the legitimate functions of the federal gov't with much lower tax rates that could be collected in a fair manner.

But those functions do NOT include SS and Medicare and many other programs that are dear to your heart.

You're a welfare mom, aren't you? Five illegitimate kids, another on the way and no job.

Pardon me, but in your response to Jeff Roberts response to this post, you said the rich pay essentially nothing in taxes. Here you say the gov't would collapse without the tax income from the rich. Which is it?
