Troy,

Very good post. I think what bothers me is that they treat cash loses as if
they don't count. If I use that same kind of logic, I could claim that I have
never had a bad position in the stock market, I simply carry over the loss
into the future where it will never happen. If course if I said that I was never
wrong and picked every stock and option right, I could sell my newsletter
for a million bucks since everyone who followed my advice would be a winner.

The question is why does pro forma accounting make Home Store a winner,
and me a liar?
