LIST of COs. WITH HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE ACCTG. PRACTICES

This is going to be the sister thread to my original 4/8/99 "List of Cos. that may have abused acquired R&D charges'. Here is the link to that thread: Subject 27296

You may notice that despite my original assertion that software companies in particular were taking excessive acquisition-related charges that would have to be reversed, only a few companies from that list actually reversed the charges upon SEC inquiry, and their share prices quickly recovered. Several of the software companies on the list have really soared.

Ironically, the three non-software companies on that list have all blown up for accounting-related reasons. Therefore I am steering clear of preying on the accounting shananigans going on in the software sector and am now concentrating primarily on shorting a few more non-software companies in anticipation of accounting-related blowups. The new self-compiled list is as follows, and keep in mind that some of the companies on the list have software operations:

PRGX (Top blowup pick)
TNB
BBOX
SNPS
CMVT
OPMR
COCO
CPTH
TYC (further downside anticipated!)
