Lee, my puzzlement on the VIX is that it seems to be in a semi-permanent downtrend. It's odd, I know! But the action over the last few months has been down down down

I think it is important to try and anticipate a change in trend. I see a very good probability of that now. Another way to look at it is to inverse the chart provided and see that the VIX may have peaked at end of June/early July and is now in a downtrend making lower lows (with the chart inverted) or higher highs with the chart viewed in normal fashion from that point forward.
