so what's your point? that it was okay to blatantly mis represent what the tax "refund" is, what it will do, and where it is sourced?

if so... why is that a good thing?

Maybe you'd like to man one of those IRS hot lines explaining to the public why, if they pay no federal income tax, just SS, they aren't getting a rebate. ...

But the public knows that SS is a pension system so advantageous that not even Congress is allowed to participate, not a tax. They wouldn't dream of accepting a check from the Trust Fund's Lock Box. -g-
