your comments basically say; I would rather pay $300b than $200b for Intel given the prevailing consensus outlook. the truth is that Intel didn't grow despite expectations of growth. certainly, growth over the next 12 months will exceed the dramatic negative 'growth' over the past 12 months so I would argue the exact opposite of your conclusion. I would rather pay 7x sales now than 6.6x sales last year... current expectations don't drive stock prices, the deviation from expectations probably will...

Intel stock isn't all that attractive to me but Dan Niles is no guru and took Lehman clients over the cliff with his picks last year...
