thecow, I once deleted an e-mail by this technique: shift-DEL. Afterwards I changed my mind and looked for it using Norton and found it still on the disk [not in the recycle bin] - albeit without the formatting. But I have not pursued this. It would make a nice study for someone.

PS: I think shift - DEL marks a file as deleted but does not overwrite it.
