Hi Sam,

Molly Ivins of the Ft. Worth Herald is the source for my positive inclination toward Pat Wood as FERC commish. Other than her positive comments, I don't really know much about the man. The NY Times article from yesterday mentions that Gov. Gray Davis and Pat Wood see "eye to eye" on a number of issues. Unlike Hebert, who was blindly religious in his zeal for a "free" market solution.

This "free" misnomer is really driving me crazy lately. I savor the irony of the WTO and its discussion of "free market" ideology having to occur in police states these days (Brunei last spring, Qatar in the fall).

I'd really prefer Curt Hebert and the other apologists just to come out and state plainly what they prefer - corporate monarchism.

BTW, do you have a URL to direct me to for the positive comments that Ken Lay has on Pat Wood? I'd like to give his words the sniff test for sucking up vis a vis real respect.
TIA for any reply.

Best, Ray
