Roebear, it's funny, most people don't think of New England as being earthquake prone, but there are a few good size faults running through the area..I remember back a hundred years or so ago,a field trip from a geology class took us to the Lake champlian area (wasn't far considering UVM is in Burlington Vt. <lol>) to check out the fault line,,it was obvious where it was<g>.. Enjoy your research, and I'll let you know in the Fall what the old Vermonters are saying about the stripes on the wooly bears and beach nuts on the trees ;^)
