You are breaking my heart, what's the matter, miss your fearless leader?! No worries though, just like Tony and Elmer who vowed to not post here, you will also be back to take cheap shots.

Mani, you're beginning to sound like you think you own this thread. You don't. It's still a public forum. If you don't like having to be the bad guy, or the heavy that bounces people and then gets crap back from the likes of me, or Windsock, or Brian, give it up. This is proof positive to me that moderated threads are a bad idea.

Tony

Mani,

I have no "leader" to follow and am not interested in taking any "cheap shots." I am only interested in free speech and threads where one isn't banned for going against majority opinion. There is already an Ignore function; why do we need to ban people who are abiding by SI's TOU? And if you think Paul is a pain, check out the VSEA thread. You have no idea what a pain truly is.

This thread, and most moderated threads I have seen, operates more like a dictatorship looking to prop up its ideas rather than one interested in disseminating the facts as they truly are. This type of affirmation-only thread only leads to a sort of mental inbreeding, the kind of which I want no part of.

Boy, for a thread moderator, this is a rather inappropriate response. You have legit reasons to ban Paul, but you have no basis for a statement like this.

Mani:

I don't quite get what all the fuss is about with the suspensions...As moderator you have the responsibility to exercise your judgment...those who have been suspended could certainly have easily avoided such by posting a little more tactfully...by so doing, they would have no need for this "poor me" stuff by finding an external reference point by which to compare the content of their own indefensible posts...The rules of conduct seem fairly clear and anyone suspended knows how they could have avoided such suspension and it has nothing to do with the content of others' posts or whether or not others should be suspended but everything to do with the content of one's own posts...No one here, as far as I know, has been suspended on the basis of another's post...Anyone who has been banned has been banned solely on the content of their own post, and, as such, by posting more tactfully at the outset could have avoided suspension...By pointing at others, these posters avoid acceptance of responsibility for the tactless content of their own posts...

Although I don't agree with suspensions in general, I know going in that it is a primary controlling feature of this thread...Keep up the good work...
