<<It may work. It's a pathetic and sickening but predictably cynical abuse of the judicial system.>>

Dave, good point. it appears that the lawyers are running the company and that is usually not a good outcome. msft appears absolutely desparate to release XP and one has to wonder why.

judges do not like to played with and thats what msft is doing to them. once again, i repeat, msft should have and should settle this thing as quickly as possible. i believe that the courts will take them down, eventually.

to me, msft is done anyways. if you listened to the csco conference call they are employing all internet based applications to increase productivity. corporate america will invest in these technologies once the skies clear. msft is not the leader in this space. one has to look at the company that has saved over a billion dollars the past year to realize where ceo's will be investing. in this environment it all comes down to roi and companies like sebl, orcl, sap provide a higher roi on their products vs. msft's products. that is going to be the downfall of the co. not the courts.

rocky.

Blisenko, charles and you, just don't get it. If the judge showed bias in the middle of the trial, gave out his vitriolic opinions AND asked tabloids not to publish them till the trial is over, then it seems to me that his decisions must not be allowed to stand.

Microsoft may have violated laws; who knows? But still, that doesn't mean that they should be found guilty by a person who is steeped in dishonesty about the case itself.

And as far as the SC taking up the case, this is its chance to make sure that judges don't run amuck. They did show to me that they had the courage to step into the presidential race, hopefully they will do the same here.

Dave,

re: It may work. It's a pathetic and sickening but predictably cynical abuse of the judicial system.

It's just a business decision, like any other.
