Ooooh now I get it...it's the same reason they call short people "Dusty"!

Hi Guys, I am looking for advice, please -

We have a problem, maybe you can give us some advice. Nick was hanging a cork board in his bedroom, and bumped the wall and it cracked, and he saw an insect, so he came and got us. The spot he bumped was wet. He said he noticed a stain there last week but didn't think anything of it.

I went in and felt the wall and there was a large spot under the sheetrock paper where the sheetrock was sort of eaten away, so I started cutting away the paper with a razor blade. Behind the wet spot was a nest of wasps, which we sprayed and then sucked up with a vacuum.

I started cutting away the paper again, and behind the paper it's all blackened, not like anything I've ever seen. A couple more wasps flew out and we are out of spray, so we left the windows in the room open and closed the door and shoved a towel under the door.

Now Chris is trying to call an exterminator and then we are going to go to a hardware store and buy more spray.

The exterior wall is vinyl siding. There is no gutter on that wall (South wall). The roof is gabled, and the roof is East and West. We looked at the exterior wall, and the chimney is about where the bad spot is. It's a little too dark to see clearly, but there are a lot of wasps flying around the chimney and it looks like the caulk around the chimney has holes in it. Maybe there is a bad brick or two, will have to wait for tomorrow to see for sure. No stains on the exterior siding.

In other words, we have a problem. Advice?

Thanks
