OK, Gersh. . . I'll bite. How do you know more commercial shorts are being covered today?

Thanks for the heads up. We will have to wait two weeks for confirmation in the COT which is an eternity in this market.
Sorry I forgot who it was but whoever put in that Firewall and hub, make sure your firewall is in front of the hub and not behind it. If it is a true "hub", they only broadcast to all machines and don't route signals like a true router. If you only have the virus protection on one machine, they can still back door you.

Sorry for not posting but my CSCO CNNA course is taking all my time. I can barely keep my eyes open but it is worth it.

MU, AMAT, GE, and a ton of other stuff sitting on critical support here. All I have so far is short term over sold signals on the NYSE, NDX etc so we could bounce but there is no high probability yet. I have a lot lower to go before getting hard class signals but feel since expiration is looming close and max pain is now slightly ahead of us, we shouldn't crash too hard right away.

Troubling is the complacency as noted here already though. Posts on another board this morning were amusing as they were so sure the bears were wrong but of course once it hit them square between the eyes, there was the usual attempt at a save proclaiming they saw it all along. -g- VIX keeps dropping and VXN is matching suit. QQQ Calls are still lopsided over puts though Jack of all trades pointed out the DOW is the other way which would make sense since commercials were long the DOW and short the NASDAQ. People are still too eager to jump in afraid to miss the bottom and take analysts at their word that things will turn around soon.

I imagine we will make an attempt at a bounce tomorrow but if there isn't volume, I would write it off to expiration preparation and Friday J6P feel good games. I am reducing shorts and will start looking for some entries into select issues soon but I won't be getting real long anytime soon, especially if we fail to hold support. I am still long QQQ LEAP puts and short the QQQ 45 call but hedged in with a long 04 LEAP call. I will likely cover my short call tomorrow.

We are going to start entering a time frame where earnings year over year are going to get easier to beat or at least not look so bad. Got a kick out of the Land's End earnings release. Heck they missed for about 8 quarters straight then finally earned 4 cents. Whoopie!!!!! Imagine next year if it is CSCO, JDSU, LU, MU etc. After writing off as much as these guys have over the last few quarters, they should trounce YOY comparisons even if they shut their doors and just collect 5% in sweep funds. -NG-

Good Luck,

Lee
