the niteowl-you can say the same things about arthur hill, ed downs, john murphy, etc. etc. that your saying about drbob(by way i'm not a paying subscriber). they all miss the boat at times and make mistakes. they should be used as sources of information only. you have to make your own decisions and develope your own strategies..

Niteowl...it is apparent that you suffered some losses, in part to Drbob's recommendations; otherwise, why would you make this so personal if your bank account (which is now no doubt lighter) was not involved.

Why not leave the board?

Drbob makes his TA comments based on technical indicators. These indicators change based on events of the day (like the Beige Book data out today). I do not see bias in his comments.

If Drbob says he's bullish, then that is his opinion, and he traded as such. DrBob is not a TokyoJoe---he was P&Ding EXDS or any other stock; he was just making comments on stocks he was long.

This is his board; he is entitled to his opinion. You are entitled to yours. Why don't you set up a NITEOWL SI board?!?!?!?

Drbob's TA is a wonderful TA. When indicators change abruptly, as they did today, then Drbob will likewise change the TA.

It's too bad your losses are causing you to take out your anger against someone else on this board. Remember--YOU ARE THE ONE MAKING THE TRADES.

If you weren't hurt at all financially by Drbob's bullish TA, then why do you take the time to attack it? Drbob was gung-ho towards an absolute bullish case; he was merely saying things look bullish based on technical indicators.

Where were your posts showing that the technical indicators pointed to a bearish setup?? Please post links to your post that called for today to be as bad as it was. In addition, do you have a phone number for us to call, like that psychic Ms Cleo? I would like to know ***EXACTLY**** what the scenario holds for tomorrow, for Friday, and for September..I will compensate you handsomely for your CORRECT calls on the future events.

While you're at it, could you tell me the winner of 2002 Super Bowl, as I would like to place a bet at Las Vegas. Please do same for NCAA basketball championship. I will sign a contract, and your lawyers can do likewise, where I will give you 70% of my winnings.

Though I might not agree with the tone, I think this is something that should be discussed publicly on this board, and that it should not be necessary to take this to PM and try and sweep it under the rug. Let the facts speak for themselves. Mistakes are made, and it's just as important to acknowledge those mistakes as it is to trumpet your correct calls. In all honesty, Niteowl has some good points, as the manner in which Drbob's TA calls are referred to tend to be self-aggrandizing, and not always objective. I cannot recall any mistaken calls being referenced (and there have been some), but sell signals over the last year have been paraded many times, even though the stance has pretty much always been that prices will be higher 6-9 months out, dating back to early last year.

Note: I did not go long on the hypothetical buy late last year, I did not go long on the hypothetical buy earlier this summer, and I did not go long on the hypothetical buy just recently. This is not sour grapes. I just think some frank honesty would be more forthright than obfuscatory attempts to paint the analysis in the brightest light. Mistakes are made, that's no problem, it happens to everyone. The key is to acknowledge and correct them quickly. I started to make a similar post on the early summer hypothetical buy, questioning what Drbob saw that was different than late last year, when the last hypothetical buy was made. I did not because I figured it would be taken as carping.

To Drbob: You have been a gracious host, and I thank you for providing the forum and your knowledge. In my opinion, your mistake is not in sending out the alerts because you may be held accountable for them, but in not posting that your TA gave a false signal and that you were reversing the call, and then later forgetting that these calls were ever made. More definitive TA with not so much room for varying interpretations would earn more of my respect, regardless of the outcomes.

theniteowl...Re: DrBob's TA.........

First let me say that I respect all of your post and have enjoyed listening to your views in V-chat..I have also book marked some important links that you have posted, so please don't take this post the wrong way....

I recently paid DrBob to take his TA class and in no way would I say it's not worth it....Not only is TA a Science, it is an Art....All traders see the same thing differently, this is where the Artist comes in....DrBob has given me a new set of tools to work with and I have had more winning trades than losers since taking his class....Anyone reading my post over the last couple weeks would have seen that my TA was telling me the market was going down....I don't see DrBob as being "GOD" so I wouldn't buy or sell anything without doing my own research....I can understand your frustration for his e-mail and I have a great deal of sympathy for anyone who tapped out on his recommendations....To have mortgaged the house or bought on margin would have been totally foolish but to have done some incremental buying for the long term is no big deal....Many have been looking for the bottom in this market including myself who lost $,000 trying to find it....I now go with what I see in "MY" TA and not anyone else's and I have DrBob to thank for giving me the opportunity....

PS
If any lurkers or newbies are reading this and you got caught up in DrBob's alert, please do yourself a favor and "take" DrBob's class so you can do your own analogy of the market.........

Enough said
