Agreed Coal gasification should be the technology to receive tax credits. Fuel cell research should be getting tens of billions to speed up its work. The arabs are on record as saying the biggest threat to opec are fuel cell powered cars. They don't necessarily need hydrogen as a fuel source btw.

What a beautiful program. O.K. American Spirit, lets take a walk down a little economics here. Not the bs that you preach.

"The Bush administration would suggest replacing strict limits on air emissions with a market-based emission credit regime allowing dirty power plants to buy emission rights from cleaner ones, Walke said."

Do you realize what that does? What it does is, it makes it more expensive for the higher polluting power plants to produce electricity, because they would have to buy more emission rights. Since it will cost more to produce, the company will make less money staying competitive, or eventually go out of business. OR the company that pollutes a lot and clean up emissions and then still stay competitive.

What is wrong with that? Your idiot liberal mind easily picks up on the crap dished out by the liberal hell hole called New York. "New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer called any move by the EPA to weaken the pollution rules a ``grave mistake'' that would jeopardize the nation's air quality."

They are not weakening the emissions rules, they are essentially going to use economics to force out the higher polluting plants. Idiot liberals. Why can't you ever understand this stuff?
