Clearly Palestinians are at fault, but I do not share the view by most people on this thread that Israel is just defending itself and has to kill the Palestinians to survive. If you've got any better ideas how Israel should handle the current gun, mortar, and suicide bomber attacks, I'm sure we'd all like to hear them. Negotiations? Cease-fires? Been there, done that.

leaders continue to think that anywhere some Jews lived any time over the past 2000 years, belongs to them. And the Palestinians think they are entitled to all the fruits of Israeli economic development over the past 100 years. The entire Mid-East consists of artificial borders, Arab Sheiks who were granted dominion over their fellow Arabs and vast geographical regions solely because they supported the British against the Ottoman Turks. Well, the Jews supported the Brits against the Turks in the Yishuv during WWI. They supported the allies while the Arabs, including Arafat's Uncle, the Mufti of Jerusalem, snuggled up with the Adolf's, Hitler and Eichman. So if anything the Israel's have as much, if not more, right to their own little artificially border piece of homeland, as any Arab ex-camel herder, now oil billionaire. It's a rough neighborhood there in the mid-east. No one has a convincing claim to any of the territory. So if folks want to start invoking history, that of the Jews certainly predates that of the Muslims or any Arab "nationalists". Btw, it has been the Palestinians and the Arabs who have been doing to "screwing" since 1948. They are the ones who opted to make war, and remain at war, rather than building their own economies and taking care of their people. And the Jordanians certainly screwed the Palestinians in 1948 when they annexed the Palestinian partition and formally incorporated it into that country. Hawkmoon
