IMO, amat, with other stock prices, are slaves to the economy. When the economy starts showing signs of rebounding, just signs, not necessary rebounding, shares will go up. Everything I read about the economy is wishy-washy so therefore there cannot be a consensus on direction of stock prices.

I do agree with a comment posted some time ago that, given just-in-time manufacturing, the turnabout can be very swift. The only big application I see is DTV which is still way off. I can't evaluate the demands the new Windows will make. Ambiguity leads to conservative buying and safe selling, and that seems to be what we're seeing.
