So GW's Justice Department is going to defend before the Supreme Court all of the laws enacted by Congress over the years?

BTW, what happened to GW's moral compass?

"Socially conservative groups were angry with Bush's stem-cell decision, which they said opened the door to further use of embryos down the road if the research proves promising, although many had braced for an even more expansive finding.

``The president is only stepping deeper into the moral morass,'' said Ken Connor, president of the Family Research Council, a major conservative group.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said the decision was ``morally unacceptable'' in that it accepted the destruction of embryos that were the source for existing cell lines.

Bush has courted the 44 million Roman Catholic registered voters the White House views as a key to his re-election in 2004."

"I am mindful of the difference between the executive branch and the legislative branch. I assured all four of these leaders that I know the difference, and that difference is they pass the laws and I execute them."
