People who are anti-homosexual are ALWAYS throwing in pedophilia. Is there a manual out there that teaches them to do that? I have a suggestion. Next time anyone brings up Christianity, compare it to pedophilia. After all there are just tons of pedophiles who are probably religious. Because pedophiles (who are predominantly heterosexual if you consider percentages of the pedophile population) come from all socio-economic groups. And as Mars has just shown us most Americans consider themselves Christian. Ergo........

I mention pedophilia only to show that orientation is not, itself, a trump card ending discussion. As for societal value, if I had meant procreation, I would have said it. I gave examples of the sort of things I meant, and you ignored them. Even the twin study, which was flawed, established, at best, a 50% genetic correlation. No responsible researcher claims more. However, many conservatives are prepared to acknowledge that most who are gay cannot do anything about it, and that it is fairly innocuous practice. On the other hand, marriage is not a matter of human rights. For example, society is at liberty to forbid polygamy. If there is a reason to preserve the traditional notion of marriage, rather than to innovate, the state is at liberty to do so. I think there is reason to preserve the distinction.......
