Duh ! Homer here LOl.

But seriously. I'm none too impressed with the global warming argument either.
It's kind of like saying we wiped out the NA (sorry CB) indigenous culture. Amazingly enough we probably would still have Mammoths ??? if the indigenous peoples had not eradicated them 10.000 years ago. I (being of minority extraction) find it difficult to reconcile this fact with current 'native' (read we got here first) claims for land.

Disregarding the underlying argument for a second, I'd like to make one point clear, for you Mq and for anybody else: I'd like to read and write about facts, including also of course opinions. Never am I trying to prove anybody right or wrong - it's not me, but the facts, that should do the job.

Underlying this of course is the assumption, there's something like an objective reality and that there's ways and means and methods to prove and refute something about it.

If this not the case, well then, as Germans say, "es ist alles fur die Katz". Btw, we could then start doubting about existence of WS as well - "Is it really happening or is it just CNBC?" (g).

So back to global warming: I quoted facts to correct some impressions, which according to the quoted source were plain wrong. What you think about it, what we believe or not believe and what we intend to do, is immaterial at this specific point.

Now, to return me the favour, tell us something about Global Xing for a change (g).

I like to look on the bright side, too, Maurice. If the oceans rise, it won't take as long to drive to the seashore for vacation.-g-

I also doubt that the modeling yields completely accurate predictions, but I do agree that pollution is not doing any good. But the CO2 my SUV puts out is probably tiny compared to the CO2 that's being emitted generating all the electricity it takes to run my computers and central air conditioner and two refrigerators and big-screen TV, not to mention the 20 year old furnace and the fireplace.

My office is about four miles away, so I emit less CO2 commuting to work than a rice burning four-banger that's being driven 20 miles each way. I drive less than 100 miles a week, around 50 most of the time.
