>Royal Bank of Canada made a powerful statement Thursday when it closed at a new 52-week high,<
This kind of chart is not going to excite the tech herd.

>A weaker U.S. dollar is obviously good news for the gold stocks.<
Couldn't agree more. Another way to play a weak dollar is buying Swiss franc futures.
>Hang on to those gold stocks.
After so many years of patience only an idiot would be selling gold stocks in this environment.
Btw
Do you still have your Bre-x stock certificates? I hear they're selling well on eBay.

ike,

If the US dollar weakens this means that the foreigners are taking their capital out of the country. They will be selling something and that something would be bonds as well as stocks. The only way that I can see it is bullish is if the US capital flow into stocks and bonds can keep them from going in the dumpster. The real question then is where will the rates 7%, 8%, 9% ... on the longer term bonds be a killer to the economy. We are a debtor nation!!!!!!!

If thing go to heck here is Canada going to be a safe haven for investors? Could be, I wish I knew.
