The difference is that Intel CEO has a Phd in engineering from Stanford and Intel has the resources to pursue soi if the calculus came out to that.

As a matter of fact, I do trust Intel when they say that SOI does not show enough of an improvement on their process. I also trust IBM, when they say that SOI shows a significant improvement on their process. However, I do not trust those people in the AMD thread that say that SOI shows a significant improvement in AMD's process.
