Here's another topic on which you are not up to speed. Bush CAN'T go any farther since it would be AGAINST THE LAW. In 1995 Congress passed and Clinton signed a bill making it illegal to use Federal Funds on research that destroys human embryos. End of story unless Congress changes the law.

The only reason Bush had to deal with the subject was to diffuse yet another of the end of term, Executive land mines the lawless renegade Clinton administration left for him - which attempted to slime around the law.

Therefore Bush did the right thing, though he clearly didn't go far enough.

"I read two books on genetics yesterday and came away with this new knowledge. "

Nice post, A.S., but I do have a question and it is about the three mysteries you mentioned. What is a soul and why are we supposed to think that only humans have one and other animals don't ? Why do we think humans have one at all?

The mind boggles.

Respectfully, you mean your mind, I assume.

Again, I must humbly point out to you that just because you are confused about a subject, it does not logically follow that everyone else is also confused.

And by the way, you have a very strong propensity for stating opinions as "facts". (...Three mysteries scientists will never figure out...)

Your arguments might be better accepted by someone who can reason logically if you would start making a distinction between the two.

>>Stem cells are not taken from anything even beginning to resemble a
human being.<<

So you wouldn't be opposed to someone stopping in at your house and cutting off a thousand cells at a time from YOU, continuously, since it doesn't resemble anything human at that level?
