You are right re targeting retail customers is the norm. I was of the opinion that GX was targeting the other sponsors through association.

I get a lot of Nascar info where I live. And I can't remember where from, I think it was an overwinter newspaper article, but it seems to me that sponsorship for Watkins Glen was only $150,000 per event. One of the lowest $ events on the NASCAR schedule. Which was incredibly low and surprised me. Something like the Coca Cola 600 in Charlotte ran around $1 Million.
