if you think about then you will realize that that news is just as bad for Intel as for AMD if not worse. What ssb saids is that amd may loose most of the tier 1 but they did not have much to begin with so that would offset by athlon 4. The overall picture is of poor demand especially for oems and that combined with lower asps should hurt intel hard.
AMD exposure is to retail small players which put it also at high risk but it put intel at higher since the main consideration at slowdown is price.

Well, if AMD said that they canceled Palomino because Thunderbird was exceeding their expectations, some AMDroids would probably take that as good news. ;) BTW, if I am not mistaken AMD didn't give a launch date for desktop Palomino at the last CC, they only said 1.5 GHz in Q3 (which could mean Thunderbird, too).
