10:40AM Nasdaq not set for big drop: DR's Dickey ($COMPQ) by Tomi Kilgore
"The Nasdaq has broken below its support of the past three months, but there is little momentum or volume behind the move, which means that the modest wind of a bullish catalyst could turn the index around," said Bob Dickey, technical analyst at Dain Rauscher. "We are not just trying to justify a bullish posture, but with the lack of an overbought condition, the stage is not set for a big decline at this time." He feels the Nasdaq may continue to meander, but will eventually develop into a rally "of some sort" in the fairly near term. The Nasdaq Composite ($COMPQ) is currently down 32 points at 1,887, the lowest level seen since April 17 (see 9:42 item).

Gee, big declines always come off overbought conditions, right? What an idiot...
