Governor Davis is telling the truth. If you look at the plants that have fired up, only 3 power plants with a capacity of 300MW or greater has been built in the past 10 years (and those began operations this year).

The rest of the plants are either small peakers or small cogens generally with outputs around 100MW.

Perhaps you should take another look at the site you posted.

The only projects brought online in the 90s were cogeneration plants. Such plants are built by private companies to supply power needs to their manufacturing plants or other needs. These plants do not supply the public with any electricity (Although they may have an agreement to sell excess electricity back to the public utility [thats the law in PA, dunno about California.])

Everthing else was just brought on line very recently (since this June), and are just small peaker plants. The large(ish) Huntington Beach project is a re-tool of the plant; rebuilding generators taken out of service. Not a new one.

Thanks for verifing what Cheney has said. Can we count on your support now ? <ggg>

BTW that site has been posted on this thread before, by yours truly.

CHENEY has clearly been caught red-handed lying to the world for his own cronies good and no one else's. That is why he has disappeared from view for months now. The White House is hoping we forget about him. So it puts Bush at his ranch lazing around being a compassionate guy. Great image-changing spin. They're the experts. Meanwhile, notice their Faith-Based head just resigned and that program is probably down the toilette. Legally it could never happen. Was also mainly a PR move to try and firm up religious types and steal some black church voters form the Dem base. But surprise, even the churches have rejected their "bright" idea. That bill was written by imbeciles.
